The CaixaBank Group has closed the first nine months of 2026 with a net profit of 4.962 billion euros, 12.9% more than in the same period of the previous year (4.397 billion). According to the bank, this growth is driven by the acceleration of commercial activity, customer acquisition, and the consolidation of its Strategic Plan 2025-2027.

The income statement reflects a positive dynamic in all its margins:

Profitability and efficiency: profitability (12-month ROTE) rises to **18.8%**, while the efficiency ratio stands at **39.4%** with administrative and depreciation expenses of 5.004 billion (+4.3%).

Business margins: the interest margin grows by 2.9% to 8.186 billion euros. The gross margin reaches 12.656 billion (+4.4%) and the operating margin stands at 7.653 billion (+4.6%).

Income from services and subsidiaries: income from services increases by 7.7% (4.182 billion), highlighted by the boost in wealth management (+12.5%) and protection insurance (+14.5%), which offset the slight decline in banking commissions (-0.9%) due to higher levels of customer loyalty. The subsidiaries contribute 349 million (+7.8%).

Tax impact: the results include the payment of 452 million euros for the Tax on interest margin and commissions (IMIC).

Commercial dynamics and digital drive

The business volume approaches 1.16 trillion euros (+6.4%):

Credit and investment: the healthy credit portfolio rises by 8% to 397.469 billion. Notable growth is seen in companies (+11.4%), consumer (+9.8%) and mortgages (+7%), where 60% of the portfolio is already at a fixed rate.

Client resources: amount to 760.353 billion (+5.6%), driven by assets under management (+10.6%, up to 216.333 billion) and net subscriptions in funds, savings, and pensions.

Subsidiaries and young segment: the *imagin* platform surpasses 4.3 million customers (+9%), while the Portuguese subsidiary BPI contributes 339 million euros to the group's results.

The CEO, Gonzalo Gortázar, has emphasised that the balance for the period is "very positive" thanks to the solid growth in customers (reaching 21.1 million in Spain and Portugal) and the incorporation of artificial intelligence and new technologies in the entity's processes.

Solvency, asset quality, and shareholder remuneration

CaixaBank strengthens its financial profile by reducing the non-performing loan ratio to 1.76% (doubtful balances at 7.733 billion) and raising the coverage of non-performing loans to 82%. Liquidity remains ample with an LCR of 178% and liquid assets of 151.506 billion. The CET1 capital ratio stands at 12.5%, after absorbing the impact of the eighth share buyback programme for 500 million.

In terms of remuneration, the Board of Directors has approved the distribution on the next 6 November of a dividend of 1.281 billion euros (18.44 cents gross per share), corresponding to 40% of the net profit for the first half. Nearly 50% of this remuneration will directly revert to society through the "la Caixa" Foundation and the FROB.
