Tecnicas Reunidas consolidates its expansion in North America with the Coastal GasLink project. The awarded scope includes detailed engineering, procurement and construction management services, with an expected execution period of over four years and a contractual value exceeding 200 million euros.
LNG Canada, a joint venture formed by Shell, Petronas, PetroChina, Mitsubishi Corporation and KOGAS, has awarded Tecnicas Reunidas Canada E&C the engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for phase 2 of Coastal GasLink (CGL), a gas pipeline being developed in British Columbia, on the west coast of Canada.
Phase 2 of CGL will be carried out through an integrated execution model. LNG Canada will oversee the construction of the project as the execution manager for phase 2, and Tecnicas Reunidas Canada E&C will provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services, while CGL will remain the owner, operator and holder of the permits for the pipeline and associated facilities.
This contract consolidates the presence of Tecnicas Reunidas in North America, a cornerstone of its current SALTA Strategic Plan.
The company has already identified a portfolio of potential projects worth 28 billion euros in the North American market. A significant part consists of around a dozen large-scale combined cycle power plants, mainly aimed at meeting the high and growing energy needs arising from the boom of large data centres being developed in the region.
